Red Lips:  There is nothing more festive than sexy red lips. Wear this look with a neutral eye make-up to let the lips stand out.

Black Eyeliner:  The Winged eyes look is very versatile. There are so many different shapes to choose according to your eyes shape. It just take some practice and patient to get the perfect winged eyes.

Red Nails:  Red nails are a MUST during the holidays - you can add some glitter for a festive look.

Metallic Eyes:  You can wear this look with nude lips and neutral eye shadows to let the metallic eyeliner be the center of attention.

Defined Eyebrows:  Are you fierce enough to break up the rules? Defined eyebrows, Long lashes and red lips are permitted on New Years Eve!

Soft Wavy Hair:  You don’t have to spend the hair spray bottle to keep your curls thigh enough to last through the night. The softer curls the better to achieve the “not trying so hard” look.

Labios Rojos:  No hay nada más festivo que unos labios rojos. Usa este look con un maquillaje de ojos en tonos neutrales, para dejar que los labios se destaquen.

Ojos de Gato:  El maquillaje “ojos de gato” es muy versátil. Existen distintas formas que van de acuerdo a la forma de tus ojos.  Toma un poco de práctica y paciencia obtener el  delineado de ojos perfecto.

Red Nails:  Un esmalte de uñas en color rojo son una necesidad durante las fiestas. Puedes añadir un poco de brillo en tonos color oro. 

Ojos Metálicos:  Si te gusta maquillarte, eres audaz y te gusta tratar nuevas tendencias este es el look que puedes adoptar para no pasar desapercibida. Los puedes usar con labios desnudos y sombras de ojos en colores neutros para que el delineador de ojos metálico sea el centro de atención.

Las Cejas Definidas:  ¿Eres lo suficientemente atrevida para romper las reglas? Cejas definidas, pestañas largas y labios rojos están permitidos en la fiesta de Año Nuevo.

Cabello en Ondas Suaves:  No tienes que gastar la botella de spray fijador para que tus rizos duren toda la noche. Mientras más suaves los rizos mejor para lograr el look descontraído.

One of the tasks I love as a blogger is to “play model”.  It’s where I develop my creativity, and it can become a challenge if you are a camera shy.  Therefore, with lots of practice, I have built my confidence.  I have also learnt to laugh about myself in a funny and positive way, and not to take myself too seriously.  Bloggers have to be creative at every photo shooting, and sometimes we run out of poses.

I want to share with you my blogger poses recap.  If you are a blogger, I am sure you will relate to some of them.

At the same time, It’s a way to remember my amazing year as a blogger, and looking through the pictures of the year makes me remember to appreciate the hard work and dedication that both of us (my hubby and I) put on this blog.  As I am not a model and he is not a professional photographer (and we don’t want to be, we have totally opposite careers) - this is just a challenge for both of us that we decided to put our heart into, and we keep learning together.

Una de las tareas que me gustan como bloggera es "jugar a ser modelo”. De esta forma desarrollo mi creatividad, y puede llegar a ser un desafío si se es muy tímida ante la cámara. Por lo tanto, con mucha práctica, he incrementado mi confianza.  También he aprendido a reírme de mí misma de una manera divertida y positiva, y a no tomarme demasiado en serio. Las bloggeras tenemos que ser creativas en cada sesión de fotos, y algunas veces nos quedamos cortas de poses.

Quiero compartir con ustedes mi recapitulación de poses. Si eres una bloggera, estoy segura de que te vas a relacionar con alguna de ellas.

Al mismo tiempo, es una manera de recordar mi increíble año como bloggera, y mirando las fotos de este año me hace recordar y apreciar el trabajo, y la dedicación que mi esposo y yo ponemos en este blog. Como yo no soy modelo y él no es fotógrafo profesional (y no queremos serlo, pues tenemos carreras totalmente opuestas) - esto es sólo un desafío para nosotros dos que hemos decidido poner nuestro corazón, y seguimos aprendiendo juntos.

Since I came to the US my holidays have been all different. My first Christmas in the US, I got stuck in a train at midnight on my way to celebrate with a relative in Massachusetts. There were times when I spent with close friends, or just in a random party that I got invited to.  Since I met my husband who also has no family in the US, our celebration has been quite different every year, but we always say that while we have one another, we have it all.  My Christmas has never been the same without my family, but I’m so happy to have a soul mate to celebrate with. 

My grandfather has been very sick the past weeks. He suffered a pre-infarction and was at intensive care in a hospital in Bolivia (where my family lives).  Thanks god, he is much better now and recovering well.  There were days that I thought I was never going to see him again. He is such an amazing man who has always thought me that no matter where you come from you have to fight for what you want in life. He has taught me to be strong and that nothing worthy achieving in life comes from easy. I am so proud of him and even though I don’t see him very often, he is always in my heart and prayers.  So having my granpa alive and having the chance to see him again is the best gift I can get this Christmas.

This year, my brother-in-law came to visit from Colombia, so we are so happy to have a family member to share with. We are going to be touristing in New York City which is always so much fun.

I hope you have a great time with your family, friends or whoever you have close by.  There is always someone to share with. Remember that if we have what we love we have it all!

Desde que llegué a Estados Unidos, mis navidades han sido muy diferentes. Mi primera Navidad en Estados Unidos., me quedé barada en un tren a medianoche en mi camino a celebrar con un familiar en Massachusetts. Hubo ocasiones que la pasé con amigos cercanos, o simplemente en una fiesta que me invitaban. Desde que conocí a mi esposo, que al igual que yo, no tiene familiares en Estados Unidos., nuestras celebraciones han sido muy diferentes todos los años, pero siempre decimos que mientras nos tengamos el uno al otro, lo tenemos todo. Mis Navidades nunca han sido lo mismo sin mi familia, pero estoy muy feliz de haber encontrado a mi alma gemela para compartir los buenos y malos momentos de la vida.

Mi abuelo ha estado muy enfermo las últimas semanas. Sufrió un pre-infarto y estaba en cuidados intensivos en un hospital de Bolivia (donde vive mi familia). Gracias a Dios, él está mucho mejor ahora y recuperándose muy bien. Había días en que pensé que nunca iba a volver a verlo. Él es un hombre admirable que siempre me ha enseñado que no importa de dónde vengas tienes que luchar por lo que quieres en la vida. Él me ha enseñado a ser fuerte y que nada que valga la pena viene fácil. Estoy muy orgullosa de él y, aunque no lo veo muy a menudo, él está siempre en mi corazón y oraciones. Así que tener a mi abuelo con vida y la oportunidad de verlo de nuevo es el mejor regalo que puedo tener esta Navidad.

Este año, mi cuñado vino a visitar desde Colombia, por lo que estamos muy contentos de tener un familiar para compartir. Vamos a estar haciendo turismo en la ciudad de Nueva York, lo cual se vuelve muy divertido.

Espero que pasen unas felices fiestas con sus familias, amigos o con quien tengan cerca. Siempre hay alguien con quién compartir en la vida. Recuerden que si tenemos lo que amamos lo tenemos todo!

I’m on the road while writing this post. I took some time off for a short trip to Philadelphia to accompany my hubby in a business trip. I love road trips; I am a town girl at heart who likes to break up the rules sometimes by eating junk food (it’s all you can find on the way besides coffee) and listening music while enjoying the road. This year has been really busy for both of us at work that we couldn’t take a vacation, so these short trips really help us to escape from the routine.

I wore this outfit during the weekend to do some errands. The holiday’s preparation seems not to get to an end, so getting all ready in style helps me to feel motivated and in the mood. I was feeling so festive that I wore a black and red outfit; one of my favorite color combos for the season. I hope your Christmas preparation is doing great!

Hola chicas! Les cuento que estoy en el camino mientras escribo este post. Me tomé un tiempo para un corto viaje a Filadelfia para acompañar a mi esposo en un viaje de negocios. Me encantan los viajes por carretera; Soy una chica de pueblo de corazón que a veces le gusta romper las reglas para comer comida no tan saludable (lo único que se encuentra en el camino además de café)  y escuchar música mientras disfruto de la carretera. Este año ha sido muy ocupado para nosotros en el trabajo que no hemos podido tomar unas vacaciones, por lo que estos viajes cortos realmente nos ayudan a escapar un poco de la rutina.

Esto me puse durante el fin de semana para hacer unas compras navideñas. La preparación de las fiestas no parecen llegar a su fin, por lo tanto, prepararme en el estilo me ayuda a sentirme motivada y en el estado de ánimo. Me sentía tan festiva que decidí  llevar un traje negro y rojo; una de mis combinaciones favoritas para la temporada. Espero que su preparación Navideña  este yendo de lo mejor!

Hello girls, I hope you had a nice weekend! For us, it was all about organizing and decorating the apartment to get into the Christmas Spirit.  We went to pick up our Christmas tree - it was a fun activity with my little family, and we hope to have it all ready soon.

On this occasion, I wore an all-black outfit with a houndstooth print blanket scarf to stay cozy. I paired it with black booties and tights to stay warm on a cold afternoon. Finally, I wanted to give the outfit a touch of color, so a red clutch was perfect to finish up the look. 

Shiloh is wearing a red puffy vest that I couldn’t resist to buy the last time I went shopping. His closet is getting bigger than mine ha!. He is always the best company at my photo shootings,  and this time he behaved so well on camera that deserves to be the center of attention :) I hope you have a lovely week!

Hola chicas, espero hayan tenido un buen fin de semana! Para nosotros fue todo acerca de la organización del apartamento para entrar en el espíritu Navideño. Fuimos a escoger nuestro árbol de Navidad - una actividad muy divertida con mi pequeña familia, y esperamos tener todo listo pronto.

En esta ocasión, llevaba un traje de color negro con una bufanda manta muy abrigada. También unos botines negros y medias panties para mantenerme abrigada en una tarde fría. Por último, añadí una cartera de mano color roja  para darle el toque final al atuendo. 

Shiloh llevaba puesto un chaleco rojo que no pude resistirme a comprarle la última vez que fui de shopping. Su armario es cada vez mejor que el mío, ja !. Él es siempre la mejor compañía para las fotos, y en esta ocasión se comportó muy bien en cámaras, por lo tanto; el merece ser el centro de atención ☺ Espero que tengan una semana maravillosa!
