As the holidays approaches, I have started getting ready for the New Year. I want to start a New Year with the right foot, so I though about re-decorating my apartment. I have already started setting up my office space (my little cave). I believe that creating a nice space where I can work for the blog will help me to get more productive. When I lived in New York, my commute to work was literally 15 minutes. As a good “New Yorker” I was always in a rush trying to catch the train, which I could actually hear at doors steps from my apartment. At the time I got into the subway, I could finally breath while I was browsing my phone, reading the free newspaper, planning the day at the office, or just relaxing by looking at every “fashionista” that entered into the subway at every stop.

Since I moved to New Jersey, my commute to work is a little more complex - I usually take different types of transportation, for instances; car, bus, ferry or subway (I need an helicopter!). Although I live very close to the city, I miss New York. The view of the city that never sleeps is timeless...!

Cuando vivía en Nueva York, mi viaje al trabajo me tomaba literalmente a 15 minutos. Como buena "New Yorker" siempre andaba en un apuros para tomar el tren, el cual podía oír desde mi apartamento. En el momento que entraba al metro, por fin podía respirar mientras miraba mi teléfono, leía el periódico gratuito, planificaba el día en la oficina, o simplemente me relajaba observando a cada"fashionista" que entraba en el metro en cada parada.

Desde que me mudé a Nueva Jersey, mi viaje al trabajo es un poco más complejo - normalmente tomo diferentes tipos de transporte, como ser; carro, autobús, ferry o metro (Necesito un helicóptero!). Aunque vivo muy cerca de la ciudad, extraño Nueva York. La vista de la ciudad que nunca duerme no pasa de moda!

Happy Monday! It’s a new week, a new start, a new opportunity to do things better and start fresh... I had a great birthday celebration. My day started with my mom’s phone call from Bolivia, followed by a surprise gift from my hubby. Later at night, we went to a really nice Argentinian restaurant in the city. I had such a great time, having a delicious dinner and drinking some wine. I didn't have the chance to take pictures of my outfit, because by the time I got off work it was already dark outside, so I decided to skip the pictures and just enjoy the night!

This is what I wore to a meeting in the city. I wanted to be comfy and chic, but also be on the warm side for a cold Autumn afternoon in New York. I put on a shift dress contrasted with a neutral coat, boots and purse. These neutral pieces are my favorite purchases, because I can wear them in many ways! Neutral colors match everything, and it is the only  shade other than black that looks great when worn from head-to toe.

Feliz Lunes! Es una nueva semana, un nuevo comienzo, una nueva oportunidad para hacer las cosas mejor y empezar de nuevo... Les cuento que tuve una linda celebración de cumpleaños. Mi día comenzó con una llamada telefónica de mi mamá desde Bolivia, seguido con un regalo sorpresa de mi esposo. Fuimos a cenar a un restaurante Argentino en la ciudad. Pasamos un buen rato, y nos deleitamos con una deliciosa cena en compañia de unas amistades. No tomé fotos ese día porque ya estaba oscuro cuando salí del trabajo, por lo tanto; decidí pasar las fotos y disfrutar de mi noche!

Este atuendo me puse hace unos días para una reunión en la ciudad. Yo quería estar cómoda y elegante, pero también abrigada para una fría tarde de otoño.  Así que me puse un vestido color púrpura contrastado con un abrigo, botas y cartera en colores neutros. Estas prendas neutrales son mis compras favoritas, porque las puedo combinar de muchas maneras, y  es el único color (como el negro) que luce bien de pies a cabeza.

Hi beauties, I hope you had a nice weekend! Mine was great, because I went house hunting with my hubby. It's exciting when I imagine our life in a new place, and thinking about a bigger closet space! We are actually looking forward to extend our family (just not yet but soon). It sounds so exciting that I feel butterflies in my stomach :)

Hola mis bellas, Espero que hayan tenido un buen fin de semana! Hi ladies, I was nominated for “The Tour Through Blogland” by the gorgeous Ivete Correa from the blog “Girl in a hot city”, and I couldn’t be happier to participate. Ivete has an amazing style, she has me obsessed over her shoes, and her pictures seriously make me want to move to Miami (specially in this iced cold weather of NY!)

I was so excited to participate on this tour, so you can learn a little bit about me and the blog from a different perspective. At the same time, I want to share some of my favorite looks through my first year as a blogger:



1)    What am I working on? I am currently working on some exciting collaboration posts with three different brands, and that’s keeping me busy lately. Also, since I work in fashion & beauty retail, this time of the year is really crazy, and very busy at work..

2)    How does my work differ from others in it's genre? I believe that even though we (bloggers) share the same interest and a passion for fashion, our style and personality are unique, and that’s what makes us different to one another. My style is the final product, because I focus on every single detail; starting with the outfit styling, make-up, hair, pictures location, etc.  It’s all about the details and more complex than I ever imagined, but I really enjoy doing it.

3)    Why do I write/create what I do? I grew up with the desire to one day pursue a career in beauty or fashion in New York. The blog is my creative outlet, and allows me to keep growing with new challenges every day. I truly believe there is never too late to learn something new; therefore, I am thinking about pursuing a Master Degree in fashion or merchandising. 

4)    How does my writing/creating process work? I do a lot of outfit planning. I get inspired by magazines and bloggers; however, I never copy-cat an outfit, I always add my own style to anything I wear. I also like changes, so my outfits will vary according to my mood, climate or just because. It’s a creative process, and it might come out very nice or maybe not as I expected. It’s like a painting to an artist. My hubby usually takes my pictures during the weekend, while we go out for lunch or dinner, or even for a coffee date. It’s all about having fun!
